Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Eucalyptus essential oil is an important oil to have on hand, especially this time of year, and this is why...
Eucalyptus oil is a strong natural antiseptic that may be effective against a wide range of bacterial and viral infections.  It also has decongestant properties, so with that in mind it helps to fight and prevent colds, flu, throat infections, sinusitis, and headaches caused by congestion, eases tight dry coughs, relieves the breathlessness of asthma and bronchitis by loosening mucus.
Emotionally eucalyptus is uplifting and invigorating, clears and stimulates the mind and helps prevent drowsiness.  Can be used for this in many ways, including inhalations, vaporizers, baths, and even in massages.
This is just a few insights on Eucalyptus oil that I thought would be very useful to share if you are looking in to going a bit more natural this year.  I personally make sure that I always have it on hand, even in the summer, because it also makes a good insect repellent.

Awesome article Nicole, I have also used it in a pan of water on my wood burner to clear the air of viruses and bacteria. It is way to useful to NOT have around.

I like this part of your website. I am actually going to be sending some eucalyptus oil back to Bloomington with Ben. He surprised us with a trip home this weekend and he's got some bad sinus stuff going on. When he gets like this one of the few things I can get him to use is the eucalyptus oil in a hot cup of water for inhaling. It does help him feel much better.

Thanks you guys for your comments. We love to hear what other people use it for also. I also burn it in our pot we put on our woodburning stove, we just love it, can't live without it!

Also when you put the aroma of eucalyptus around the house it has been known to kill air-born germs. Great oil to help prevent the entire household from getting sick while tending to others that are ill.....
